Mental health & wellbeing sessions
Feedo Needo have introduced regular mental health and wellbeing sessions at their Birmingham food bank, as an additional service provided free for all. These sessions are held once every week by our fully qualified counsellor who has over 30 year's worth of experience in the field
It is important, especially in light of Mental Health Awareness Week 2022, to provide such additional support to our service users as mental health issues are more prevalent in the homeless community by 25%-30% than in comparison to the general population. This figure attributes to the majority of vulnerable individuals and families who visit our food banks, therefore, we have made it our responsibility to include counselling, advice, meditation therapy and much more in these group and one to one sessions which will help individuals with their daily struggles, anxiety, stress, depression etc.
It is the mission of Feedo Needo to support our community the best we can in various aspects of their lives from food and shelter to mental health provisions- ensuring that everybody who visits us feels included and supported.
